Ritz-Carlton will open on Lake Como in 2026

Ritz-Carlton lands on Lake Como, thanks to an agreement between Marriott International and Grimit and through the conversion of the former Hotel Grande Bretagne in Bellagio. Colliers Italia acted as advisor to the property. The building will offer 59 rooms and 46 suites, including two Ritz-Carlton suites, with lake views. The resort facilities will include a SPA complete with an indoor pool, restaurants, and spaces for meetings and events. Parks and gardens will reflect the landscape and should include a meditation garden, historic trail, outdoor pool and private dock to allow guests easy access to other lakeside locations. It is scheduled to open in 2026. The historic Belle Époque Hotel Grande Bretagne was one of the first luxury hotels on Lake Como, when it opened in 1850. In disuse since the turn of the last century, it was acquired by the Galbusera family . Covering an area of ​​16,500 m2, the redevelopment will involve a complete conservative restoration and a revisitation of the property with respect for the historical significance of the building. The new Ritz-Carlton will be a five-minute walk from the main tourist attractions of Bellagio such as Punta Spartivento, Villa Melzi and the gardens of Villa Serbelloni Park.
