The millioners fleeing from London to Milan

17.07.2024
This is why thousands of millionaires move their residence to Italy.

In recent days the British newspaper Daily Telegraph wrote an article ("How Italy has freed itself from the reputation of being a desperate case and is stocking up on British millionaires") in which it explained how over four thousand British citizens have changed residence to #Italy . In particular, in Italy there is a destination that seems to attract, among all, the richest citizens: #Milan. The Lombard city is in fact stealing many millionaires from London by taking advantage of the offers of #realestate and luxury services. But there are also #tax reasons behind it.

???????Here is the article by Marco Cecchini on MF-Milano Finanza:
According to the Telegraph, in 2023 four thousand English citizens transferred their residence to Italy, encouraged by the United Kingdom thanks to the restriction of the privileges of those who bring their residence to the country without intending to stay there. In Italy the opposite happens. Italy is becoming one of Europe's largest tax havens for millionaires fleeing their country's taxes. What we are witnessing is a surprising paradox: Italy, which has always been in dire straits, in search of foreign capital to cover its budget holes, the eternal bottom of the list, is starting to be looked at with growing interest.
